That’s how it felt, anyway. Maybe 8 years ago, I went to our county’s tax sale for delinquent real estate, it was spur of the moment and I really doubted I would be successful but off I went with just enough cash in my pocket for the required 10% down payment. No checkbook, no credit card, nothing that would allow me to bid beyond my predetermined maximum spending amount. There were many people at the auction, I was sure every one of them had more to spend and was after just what I was after…. luckily, I was wrong. After all was said and done, I was the brand spanking new owner of a 2 1/2 storey, 2700 square foot brick building, commercial on the main floor and two small apartments on the second floor, with a full basement and a small third floor attic area. The location is a fairly busy main street in a very small town in rural New York. It was a rough customer, to be sure but I had PLANS!
The Price, you ask? $2,250.00!
